DESCRIPTION:PLAYWRIGHTS COLLABORATIVE MEETING : \nAt the Sunday\, Oct 20\, Playwrights Collaborative Meeting (7:00 PM) we will read and discuss James Freeman’s “Dancing With The Moon.” \nWhen a homeless African American Vietnam vet living in a fantasy spot on the streets is approached by a runaway teenage girl fleeing incest\, they form a bond that nearly transforms their lives. \nThis meeting is at the Three Penny Theater\, 1725 25th Street\, Sacramento (enter from the courtyard on 25th Street between Q and R Streets.) \nIf you need a ride to the theater\, let me know and we’ll see what we can do to help. \nThe Playwrights Collaborative thanks the California Stage Theater Company for the use of its theater. \nFor further information or if you have a play you would like read\, contact Gary Agid\, chairman\, at gary@agid.com (916-383-9267) . \n======================================== \n“The Playwrights Collaborative is an organization of writers\, actors\, directors and others interested in the theater\, working together to promote the development and production of new plays in Sacramento and elsewhere. Through a cooperative process of peer review\, Playwrights Collaborative assists in making plays ready for production and helps in finding suitable venues where shows might be performed.” \n  \nAt each meeting\, original plays by local writers are read and discussed as are ways to promote deserving works for production. Several theaters have expressed an interest in producing one new original play per year and Playwrights Collaborative has encouraged similar interest by other theatres in the area. There will also be occasional speakers with expertise in various aspects of theater. \n  \nPlaywrights Collaborative invites interested writers\, actors\, and others to attend and take part in the readings. The group actively promotes new plays to prospective producers. Following each reading\, comments and suggestions for improvement will be solicited from all who are present.
